Legal dope-pusher Schering-Plough has just announced that it will be laying off 1,000 salespeople (20% of its force). Luckily, the company will still have a 4,000-count sales team hanging out in the alleys near hospitals.

In a statement from a shill, the company actually admitted that fewer sales people will make the company more able to meet customer needs!

“”Schering-Plough is taking these and other … actions after critically examining all the work being done by its colleagues and finding ways to become leaner, more effective and better able to meet customers’ needs.”

Well if laying off 1,000 salespeople will help meet customer needs, how about firing the whole sales staff?
