GlaxoSmithKline outsources diabetes researchers and fires scientists
Word on the street is that drug conglomerate GlaxoSmithKline is going to be firing up to 250 researchers and replacing them with outsourced employees from “lower-cost countries.”
An un-named GSK windbag was sympathetic enough to say this:
“There is a whole lot of reshuffling going on companywide. Unfortunately, as part of that process, jobs are going to be lost.” - Some Asshole © 2008
To add insult to injury, GSK asked all employees who were candidates for layoffs to interview for positions that would still be available after the cuts. It’s sad when your management gameplan comes straight from Office Space.
