In the second round of layoffs this year, auto-parts maker BorgWarner has fired close to 200 factory workers from its Muncie plant. Scott Symonson, a 25-year employee of the company, had this to say about the morale of the workers left behind:

“There is such a black cloud of depression that hangs over you when you walk in the door. It’s killing everybody.”
