Adbrite, the online advertising firm founded by Pud of the late great FuckedCompany.com, is laying off 40% of its staff (40 employees ). This move isn’t that surprising given that Adbrite’s VC firm is Sequoia “RIP: Good Times” Capital, but a headcount reduction of this size is a pretty desperate move.

Also departing are a few execs: the VP of marketing and the VP of finance. If the company’s problems are in either one of these departments we’ll be seeing a lot more from Adbrite in the coming months…
