Downfalls

iKobo is no mo’

November 7, 2008

iKoboiKobo was a money transferring service for people who didn’t want to use Paypal, Moneybookers, ePassporte, or the money-laundering E-Gold. Now, their fledgling, also-ran service will be discontinuing operations. In an email to members, the company informs them that they only have 7 days to spend the money in their account before it is refunded to the original sender.

    Stan:

Blake Patten, earstwhile CEO of iKobom was so arrogant and incompetent, he couldn’t see it coming. iKobo board was also culpable in this demise of iKobo by appointing a CEO who rose through trhe ranks from the Customer Service Center. Blake could not even bring the customer service perspective to bear. Imagine that customer support was only available for 8 hours a day. The company was too top heavy. iKobo was founded on a flawed business model with inherent business and market risks. When the consulyants told them, they won’t listen.

IKOBO was horrible. My husband and I filed a complaint with the BBB and the matter was not resolved before they went belly-up. Their BBB rating was unsatifactory. Now their toll free number is answered by a company in Florida called http://www.first-pay.com. They claim to be the new management. First-Pay does not impress me either, they don’t even have a published address on their website.

These days I don’t do business with any company that does not show a Customer Satisfaction Index courtesy of http://www.inetrating.com
