Well as nice as Friday was, let’s all give thanks to our ancestors that this week is over. Here are some headlines from the week the Dow almost closed at 7,500:
The big news of the week of course was the big three bailout hearings — I got carpal tunnel syndrome from liveblogging it. Before the hearings, Ford tried to show some responsibility by selling a big chunk of Maza. Smooth move.
Our poor friends at GGP have hired a bankruptcy firm, and E*Trade might want to find out who they hired.
Of course there were layoffs too: BlackRock will definitely be slashing staff, as will KLA and Boeing. Also WaMu flamed back from the grave with 1,600 call center layoffs.
I think that was it… oh yeah, no more Jerry Yang at Yahoo.
Rest well — let’s hope next week is better.
